3-Minute Thesis
For my dissertation, I studied interventions to improve TB care for South African adults living with HIV. In this video, I condense my findings into three minutes. It was awarded 2nd place and the People’s Choice Award in the Hopkins 3MT Competition!

Texting for HIV/TB Care
In this study, we tested whether USSD and text messaging would improve delivery of laboratory results to people with HIV in South Africa. In the intervention arm, 73% of participants saw their results within a week (vs. 9% in comparator arm).

LGBT Mental Health
I presented this research poster at the IAS 2021 conference. We surveyed >9,000 LGBTQ folks about social support and mental wellness. Receiving less social support during COVID was related to higher anxiety and depressive symptoms.

Trans Access to Care
In this global survey of 964 trans and nonbinary folks, we found that the COVID-19 crisis resulted in reduced access to gender affirming care. Depression, anxiety, and suicidal thoughts were more common for people who’d lost care during COVID.
